Repairs

STTC is a full service Giant/OTR Tire dealer providing new tires, services, retreads and our own top quality repair facility. With the global shortage and the increasing cost of new OTR tires, companies need ways to salvage more hours out of haulage and loader tires in quarries, mines and industrial sites.

Repair Process

STTC uses the Monaflex system with uncured Patch Rubber Co. Repair units. The repairs are cured with heat and pressure to provide maximum adhesion.

The advantages of the process are:

Maximum Adhesion - When cured by heat and pressure, these repair units provide superior adhesion over chemically cured patches, and equivalent adhesion to uncured (green or raw) patches.

A Permanent Repair - During the curing process, the layer of Bonding Gum flows into imperfections in buffed surfaces acting as a “safety factor” for less-than-perfect application procedures. Because of increased adhesion to the tire casing, fewer units need to be removed prior to subsequent retreading cycles.

Appearance - The heat cure repair units are cured at the factory which provides an improved appearance over uncured repairs. Repair Units feather into the tire inner-liner, giving the repair an almost unnoticeable appearance.

The Competitive Process
Companies use a chemical cure to bond their repairs. This process is typically cheaper and faster but provides less adhesion compared to a heat and pressure cure.
